| Dr. Gabriel Campana has served as a Williamsport City Councilman for more than 11 years. He is a lifelong resident of Williamsport and is a no nonsense leader. He is tough on crime, advocates job creation, low taxes, and sensible codes enforcement. Williamsport has changed over the years and Dr. Campana is determined to work with citizens to make it a better place.
Campana is a proactive leader. He conducted Anti-Crime Meetings when others would not. At his meetings, he urged citizens to get involved and has embraced their help. He has commended The Williamsport Crime Commission, C.A.P., Isabella Street Group, Newberry Partnership, and Partnership Lycoming. As Chairman of Public Safety, he persuaded the City to enact a Teenage Curfew, led for a Crime Watch Program, and is a Champion of Community Policing and a School Resource Officer. He was the first official to recognize gang activity, and has recommended an array of strategies to combat the thugs committing crime. Presently, he is Public Safety Chairman and serves on the Housing Needs Committee. He will Institute Operation: Zero Tolerance which will add more police officers on the street, create tough legislation, and send criminals packing. This plan is similar to Rudy Giuliani's.
For job creation, Gabe Campana has supported projects such as Wegmans, High Steel, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn, Perkins, Wire Rope, etc.
Being pro-business, he has been the leader for a multi-purpose Family Arena. Since he initiated the concept in 2000, Campana has worked tirelessly to make the economic stimulus package a reality. He is determined to give families the opportunity to engage in concerts, wrestling, arena football, ice hockey, figure skating etc.. This project will create and increase the tax base. During his tenure, he has assisted in numerous economic endeavors. He is business friendly.
Campana was instrumental in bringing Starbucks, The Orleans Project, and Fourth Street Station jobs. He has the support of these developers and more. He is committed in bringing family sustaining manufacturing jobs. Also, his Bring Back Williamsport Plan in cooperation with existing downtown merchants, the energetic Neighborhood Landlord Association, and the vibrant arts community will enhance ongoing plans to revitalize center city. Campana is goal oriented. With his constructive meetings with community partners, he is confident that he can establish our city's economic policy in a pro-growth direction.

Being born and raised in Williamsport, he recognizes that keeping taxes low will keep families in Williamsport. A comprehensive shared services plan is embraced by Dr. Campana. Regionalizing fire and police is a priority. Campana assisted in such a fire protection alliance with Old Lycoming Township. Therefore, he has been a watchdog on council and has voted against numerous high projected budgets. He has given a years worth of his own salary to cover line items to help taxpayers.
In addition, he persuaded council to give $200,000 back to taxpayers instead of spending their money. He can lead Williamsport in a strong new direction.
